A smidgen?

by Randy Buckner » Sun Dec 31, 2006 3:16 pm

I never knew there were actual measurements for a pinch, a dash or a smidgen. I found this while looking for some stainless steel measuring spoons:

Drop 1/64 teaspoon
Smidgen 1/32 teaspoon
Pinch 1/16 teaspoon
Dash 1/8 teaspoon
Tad 1/4 teaspoon

They actually sell a Dash, Pinch and Smidgen measuring spoon set. Live and learn....

Is a smidgen bigger than a wee smidgen? :?

Let's talk about my favorite engineering unit of length- the RCH, which is a tiny, tiny amount. Surely there's a cooking equivalent.

I learned something new. I didn't know there were different subsets of CHs.
