I just called the father of our daughter-in-law to see how he was doing with a bout of Whooping Cough. Yes, it is coming back. He and his wife have opted out on going to dinner at their sons, since they have two small children, they did not want to take the risk.
It is a bummer not to be able to smell and taste....why bother cooking. Can you postpone Thanksgiving for a few days?
If your guests are all fine with it, just take the extra precautions you mentioned, wash your hands a lot, keep the tissues near-by and don't stand too close to anyone. Happy Thanksgiving!
