I've been away from home for a couple of weeks now, and while enjoying our Florida business-and-pleasure trip immensely, haven't really been in a wine-tasting situation since meeting up with Tim Baker and Judy Stark in St. Pete last weekend. So it was kind of a treat to make it to Giuseppe's, a nice little Sicilian place in North Palm Beach, with my wife and mom tonight. It's one of our favorites for good home-cooked 'talian food and a short but decent wine list with pricing that's just a skosh above retail.

Villadoria 1995 Dolcetto d'Alba ($15/restaurant)
Clear, bright reddish-purple, with a pleasant floral scent of violets. Ripe and juicy fruit flavor over lemon-squirt acidity; so much fruit that it almost seems sweet, but with the help of the zingy acid, it finishes dry, crisp and long. I really love Dolcetto!
