Sierra Cantabria 1995 Codice Rioja ($7.99) This one's an old favorite for value, and while it's certainly not one of the big boys, the '95 doesn't disappoint ... especially at the low-end price. Dark ruby color. Spicy oak and berry fruit aromas; fresh cherry-berry fruit flavor, juicy and tart. Simple, a bit short in the finish, but a good quaff and a very good value. Importer: Cutting Edge Selections Inc., Cincinnati. (Sept. 22, 1997)

All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I purchase all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores.
