E. Guigal 1995 Cotes-du-Rhone Rosé ($8.99)
Torrid day in River City called for a cold dinner and an appropriate wine. Something dry and pink and crackling cold? Sounds good to me! This one's a clear bright copper color, with pleasant light-berry and herbal scents; bone-dry, juicy and tart flavor, strawberries and lavender, clean and lasting in a surprisingly long finish. Exceptional rosé. Importer: Classic Wine Imports, Boston. (July 28, 1997)

All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I purchase all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores.
