Georges Duboeuf 1995 "Jean Descombes" Morgon ($10.99)
Clear ruby color. Light berry aroma, with none of the "banana" yeast character that's so dominant in Duboeuf's lower-end bottlings. Soft, deliciously juicy cherry-berry fruit flavor, well balanced with lemon-squirt acidity. Pleasant wine, made an excellent match with garlicky grilled chicken. Importer: Winesellers Ltd., Skokie, Ill. (July 27, 1997)

All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I purchase all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores.
