Hermanos Lurton 1994 Tempranillo Crianza Tinto Fino Vino de Mesa de Castilla y Leon ($8.49)
Dark garnet color. Spicy oak, black fruit, anise and leather aromas, fine and complex. Juicy, lemony fruit flavor, tasty and fresh, a bit short in the finish. Pleasant table wine, although perhaps a bit less of an impressive bargain than its more modest sibling tasted on Nov. 29. Importer: Classic Wine Imports Inc., Boston. (Dec. 10, 1997)

FOOD MATCH: Perfect with a household standard, a simple chicken, butterflied, stuffed with garlic and rosemary and quickly roasted at high heat. Click here to see the recipe from my World of Creative Cookery pages.

All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I purchase all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores.
