Gilbert Alquier & Fils 1995 Faugères ($11.99) Dark ruby color. Ripe red fruit and spicebox aromas. Full and bright cherry-berry flavor, fresh and juicy, lemony acidity provides structure without making it overtart. Flavors consistent in a longish finish; quaffable, accessible, good with food. Importer: Kermit Lynch, Berkeley, Calif. (Nov. 24, 1997) PRICE WATCH: Up dramatically in this market from $9.49 for last year's regular bottling; it's actually crept within $1 of the toll for the 1994 Reserve. While it's still within reason for its quality level, this is not a happy trend.
