Vega Sindoa 1995 Navarra (Spain) Cabernet Sauvignon/60%-Tempranillo/40% ($6.99)
Inky dark garnet color. Heady black fruit and oaky vanillins bid for predominance, so aromatic that it seems to leap from the glass. Juicy fruit and tart, lemony acidity on the palate, carrying into a long finish in which the acid seems to outlast the fruit. Made an excellent match with, of all things, linguine with fresh pesto.
