Weingut Undhof 1990 Kremser Kögl (Austria) Riesling Spätlese ($14.99)Clear gold. Lovely old-Riesling aromas, appley fruit with whiffs of pine and slate. Crisp, juicy fruit, remarkably youthful, with subtle mineral notes. Fresh-fruit sweetness is barely perceptible behind tart, cleansing acidity: There may be a bit of residual sugar here, but the wine "drinks dry." Delicious Riesling flavors persist in a long finish. U.S. importer: Milton S. Kronheim & Co., Inc., Washington, D.C.; a Terry Theise Estate Selection. (Oct. 8, 1998)
FOOD MATCH: The wine's rich flavor and very slight sweetness makes a natural marriage with shrimp sauteed in green peppers and onions.
