Foreau 1995 Demi Sec Vouvray ($16.99)Clear, bright gold. Earthy, aromatic scents, mint and pine and elusive fruit -- figs? Full-bodied on the palate, a burst of fresh-fruit sweetness followed by a lemon-squirt of tart acidity, with lovely flavor nuances that follow the nose, gently sweet with balancing tartness and a pleasant bitter quality in the long finish. U.S. importer: Willett Distributing, Alexandria, Ky. (Aug. 29, 1998) FOOD MATCH: I tried a risky marriage with shrimp Fra Diavolo and found it unexpectedly good. As I had hoped, the sweetness of the wine made a likes-with-likes match with the sweetness of the shrimp, and the spicy tomato-sauce flavors didn't detract.
