Mulderbosch 1996 Stellenbosch (South Africa) Sauvignon Blanc ($18.59)
Clear straw color. Clean, pleasant citric scent with a whiff of fresh green peas. Full, bright citric fruit, fresh and bright. Middle of the road, neither overtly herbaceous nor laden with oak. Fine, straightforward Sauvignon Blanc, though pushing the limit on value at this Chicago-area price. Importer: Cape Classics, Port Chester, N.Y. (Aug. 14, 1997)
