Gaston Huet 1996 Clos du Bourg Vouvray Demi-Sec ($20.99)Clear, bright straw color, with delicate but delicious scents that evoke dried fruit, hard candies and honey. Full and ripe flavor, fresh-fruit sweetness definitely present but muted by steely acidity; earthy notes and lingering nuances that mirror the nose. Delicious wine; will certainly benefit from aging, but it's hard to keep from gulping it now. U.S. importer: Europvin USA, Emeryville, Calif. (Aug. 4, 1999)
FOOD MATCH: Served as an after-dinner sipper but goes nicely with a taste of sharp cheese.
