Penfolds 1995 Clare Valley (Australia) Cabernet Sauvignon-Shiraz ($9.99)
Clear, dark reddish-purple in color, with spicy oak aromas over ripe red fruit. Soft and juicy fruit flavors with good, crisp acidity holding it in balance. Oak recedes on the palate to unveil tasty raspberry and apple-skin flavors in a medium-long finish. Nothing fancy here, but a good wine for sipping or washing down steaks.
