Jorio Umani Ronchi 1996 Jorio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo ($10.99)
Very dark reddish-purple, with scents of black fruit and aromatic oak. Full, warm and plummy fruit flavors with good acidic balance. Simple but appealing table wine. U.S. importer: Martin Scott Wines Ltd., Lake Success, N.Y. (July 19, 1999)

FOOD MATCH: Goes well with pesto over linguine and garden vegetables.
