Seppelt 1993 Harpers Range South Eastern Australia Sparkling Shiraz ($15.99)
Inky dark ruby in color with a frothy pink mousse. The bubbles dissipate rather quickly, leaving only a slight, pleasant prickly petillance on the tongue. Grapey, peppery fruit aromas and ripe, juicy fruit flavors with fragrant black pepper give this wine serious credentials as a tasty, fruity Shiraz that goes beyond the oddity of a red bubbly.
