Bollini 1997 Reserve Selection Friuli Grave Pinot Grigio ($13.99)
Clear, pale straw color, with fresh white-fruit aromas and a distinct scent of damp wool that I find typical of Pinot Grigio. Citric and crisp flavors, full-bodied and round, clean and fresh and only a wisp of that damp wool in the finish. U.S. importer: Kobrand Corp., NYC. (May 20, 2000)
FOOD MATCH: Fine with a delicate leek and mascarpone risotto flavored with basil and lemon peel.

All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I purchase all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores. |
