Another wine of exceptional value from the house of Parisot, whose 1995 Côtes du Rhone I reported last week.

Marie-Louise Parisot 1995 Pouilly-Vinzelles ($8.99)
Clear bright gold. Cooking apples and a pleasant almond scent; rich, full fruit, pleasing if a bit simple. A very faint almond quality carries over from the nose and adds flavor interest. Clean though a bit short in the finish. U.S. importer: Louisville Crown, Louisville, Ky. (May 3, 1998)

FOOD MATCH: Good with a high-tone version of macaroni and cheese made with sharp Cheddar and bits of ham.
