Domaine des Acacias 1995 Touraine Gamay ($6.49)This Gamay from the Loire is a dark ruby color, breathing grapey fruit aromas with fragrant whiffs of spice, appetizing as a cherry pie. Ripe, juicy and acidic; simple and fresh, reminiscent of a Beaujolais, but showing more balance and structure. Good quaff, good value. U.S. importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, Calif. (April 27, 1998) FOOD MATCH: I'm not wild about wine with hot-and-spicy fare, but chose this one with a relatively mild lamb curry based on its anticipated quenching fruit. Not a bad choice, although if the curry had been much hotter, the wine wouldn't have worked.
