Ch. Joguet 1996 Vin de Chinon Rosé ($10.99) Clear pale pink in color, very light. The scent evokes fresh apples with pleasant floral, herbal and medicinal notes, unusually nuanced for a rosé. Ditto on the palate, where it hits with a burst of flavor, tart and crisp, reminiscent of unsweetened cranberries. Unusual but pleasant, a wine to upset the prejudices of folks who think pink wines are boring. U.S. importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, Calif. (April 14, 1998) FOOD MATCH: Perfect with a spicy but not fiery stir-fry of thin-sliced beef and asparagus in a black-bean sauce.
