Chateau La Roque 1995 Coteaux du Languedoc Pic Saint Loup ($8.99) Inky dark garnet. Black fruit aromas and a tasty whiff of coconut. Full, juicy fruit flavor with a good acidic structure, witih a surprising curtain of tannins behind the fruit. Well-balanced and frankly delicious now, but showing good potential for at least a few years in the cellar. If it's a bit less refined than the "Cupa Numismae," its bigger brother, it's an even better buy. U.S importer: Kermit Lynch, Berkeley, Calif. (Jan. 22, 1998) FOOD MATCH: Lamb chops pan-grilled to medium rare, and a fine match it is, continuing the experimentation with red wine and lamb begun in the previous nights' tastings.
