Paul Jaboulet Aîné 1998 "Parallele '45'" Côtes du Rhône ($8.99)
Very dark garnet. Peppery, grapey fruit with a whiff of caramel. Bright and fresh flavors, simple but mouth-filling; big fruit and zippy acidity to hold it all together; a good quaffing and table red. U.S. importer: Frederick Wildman & Sons Ltd., NYC. (Jan 12, 2000)
FOOD MATCH: Snappy fruit makes it a decent partner with roast turkey breast.

All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I purchase all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores. |
