Cantine Riondo "Pink" Prosecco Raboso ($11.00)
Transparent and very pretty pale rosy pink, frizzante but not fully sparkling; frothy bubbles quickly fall back in the glass. Delicate red berries and fresh herbs on the nose; crisp, prickly and fresh on the palate, subtle fruit shaped by good acidity. There may be a distant hint of fresh-fruit sweetness, but with the tart acidity and a pleasant, very slight bitter note in the finish, it comes across as dry. Lightweight 10.5% alcohol invites quaffing. US Importer: Grapes Solutions Inc., Dover, Del. (Mar 10, 2008)

FOOD MATCH: Spring's on the way, and this one will be a real treat for alfresco sipping or pairing with dinner salads and veggie dishes. It was very good with a simple meatless pasta dish, inguine con salsa di spinacci, long pasta with a thick spinach puree.

Wine notes in 'shelf-hanger' format:
We publish Wine Lovers' Page tasting reports in the familiar "shelf-hanger" size and format, to make it easy for wine merchants or collectors to print them out, clip and post them where this wine is displayed. We do ask, however, that the name, logo and URL be left intact, and that these reports be used with the specific wines rated, not different bottlings or vintages.

Our tasting policy:
All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I accept no free samples from wineries or distributors, purchasing all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores.
