Baciami 2006 Albana di Romagna ($11.00)
Clear, rather bright gold color. Attractively fruity aroma, fresh peaches on the first aroma impression, with a more subtle apricot note and something simply floral like honeysuckle joining in as you swirl and sniff. The tutti-frutti aromas hint at sweetness to follow, and there's certainly fresh-fruit sweetness here, but it's gentle, not syrupy, with crisp acidity keeping the balance on the quenching side. Clean, fresh and long, quaffable at just 9% alcohol. You probably couldn't call this a "serious" white, but it's mighty easy to like, and works and plays very well indeed with good things to eat. US Importer: John Given Wines Co., Manhasset, N.Y. (Mar 5, 2008)

FOOD MATCH: Chicken pot pie with fresh veggies and herbs - a simple revelation, fruit and gentle sweetness with mellow comfort flavors.

Wine notes in 'shelf-hanger' format:
We publish Wine Lovers' Page tasting reports in the familiar "shelf-hanger" size and format, to make it easy for wine merchants or collectors to print them out, clip and post them where this wine is displayed. We do ask, however, that the name, logo and URL be left intact, and that these reports be used with the specific wines rated, not different bottlings or vintages.

Our tasting policy:
All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I accept no free samples from wineries or distributors, purchasing all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores.
