Bisci 2003 Verdicchio de Matelica ($12.99)
Clear straw with a distinct golden hue. Slightly evolved, rich and complex, almonds and hazelnuts and hints of beeswax over crisp white fruit in the aroma and flavor. Mouth-watering acidity provides structure, with almonds and fresh citrus in a long finish; the overheated vintage of 2003 is manifest in a hefty 14% alcohol, but it doesn't show on the palate. Excellent wine. US Importer: Vintner Select, Mason, Ohio; from Marc de Grazia. (Sep 17, 2007)

FOOD MATCH: Made for rich pasta dishes or full-flavored seafood, it was a natural with fettuccine with white clam sauce.

Wine notes in 'shelf-hanger' format:
We publish Wine Lovers' Page tasting reports in the familiar "shelf-hanger" size and format, to make it easy for wine merchants or collectors to print them out, clip and post them where this wine is displayed. We do ask, however, that the name, logo and URL be left intact, and that these reports be used with the specific wines rated, not different bottlings or vintages.

Our tasting policy:
All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I accept no free samples from wineries or distributors, purchasing all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores.
