Desiderio Jeio Prosecco Brut ($12.99)
Clear and very pale, this lightly sparkling Prosecco shows a distinct brass-green glint. A frothy mousse falls back fast, but a modest stream of bubbles persists. Its fresh aroma is focused on citrus, lemon and lime. Tingly carbonation tickles the palate in a flavor that's crisp and fully dry (as the borrowed French term "brut" suggests), and relatively light at a claimed 11.5% alcohol. US Importer: VIAS Imports Ltd., NYC (Jun 15, 2006)

FOOD MATCH: I like Prosecco very much with Asian fare; it was an ideal match with a home-stir-fried batch of Cantonese shrimp with lobster sauce.

Wine notes in 'shelf-hanger' format:
We publish Wine Lovers' Page tasting reports in the familiar "shelf-hanger" size and format, to make it easy for wine merchants or collectors to print them out, clip and post them where this wine is displayed. We do ask, however, that the name, logo and URL be left intact, and that these reports be used with the specific wines rated, not different bottlings or vintages.

Our tasting policy:
All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I accept no free samples from wineries or distributors, purchasing all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores.
