Domaine de Fondrèche 2003 Côtes du Ventoux "Instant" rosé ($9.99)
This wine's pretty, transparently pale rose-petal-pink color belies its full aromas and flavors. Ripe and fresh strawberry aromas waft from the glass, accented by an elusive, characteristic whiff of herbes de Provence. Crisp and bright on the palate, fresh berry fruit is nicely balanced by zippy acidity; relatively high alcoholic content (13.5 percent) adds full texture and body unexpected in a wine that looks delicately pink but "drinks red." US Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, D.C. (Jan 24, 2005)

FOOD MATCH: Perfect with the spicy "Creole Nouvelle" jambalaya featured in the Jan. 27, 2005 Wine Advisor FoodLetter.

Wine notes in 'shelf-hanger' format:
We publish Wine Lovers' Page tasting reports in the familiar "shelf-hanger" size and format, to make it easy for wine merchants or collectors to print them out, clip and post them where this wine is displayed. We do ask, however, that the name, logo and URL be left intact, and that these reports be used with the specific wines rated, not different bottlings or vintages.

Our tasting policy:
All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I accept no free samples from wineries or distributors, purchasing all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores.
