Brookland Valley 2002 "Verse 1" Margaret River Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc ($15.00)
This wine from Western Australia, with both varieties in equal proportions, shows a very pale greenish-straw color in the glass. Its fresh, herbal scent blends aromatic mint with a tart citric squirt of lime juice. Full and round flavors follow the nose, good clean limey fruit and a hint of earthy green olive. Lovely texture, rich and smooth, with cleansing acidity in the finish. US Importer: International Cellars, Gonzales, Calif. (Aug 13, 2003)

FOOD MATCH: Fine with a hearty peasant dish of new potatoes and Italian sausages pan-roasted with green peppers and onions.

Wine notes in 'shelf-hanger' format:
We publish Wine Lovers' Page tasting reports in the familiar "shelf-hanger" size and format, to make it easy for wine merchants or collectors to print them out, clip and post them where this wine is displayed. We do ask, however, that the name, logo and URL be left intact, and that these reports be used with the specific wines rated, not different bottlings or vintages.

Our tasting policy:
All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I accept no free samples from wineries or distributors, purchasing all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores.
