Omaka Springs 2002 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc ($13.99)
Clear, pale greenish-gold in color, this wine's aroma is focused on pleasant, citric lemon-lime enhanced with a whiff of the green chile pepper that's characteristic of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Full and fresh, abundant citrus given structure by zippy acidity; good balance and texture, with those appetizing green-chile notes in a lingering aftertaste. US Importer: T.G.I.C. importers Inc., Woodland Hills, Calif. (Feb 5, 2003)

FOOD MATCH: A simple omelet filled with asparagus and mild green chile peppers and a little sharp Cheddar made a natural match with the "green" character in the wine.

Wine notes in 'shelf-hanger' format:
We publish Wine Lovers' Page tasting reports in the familiar "shelf-hanger" size and format, to make it easy for wine merchants or collectors to print them out, clip and post them where this wine is displayed. We do ask, however, that the name, logo and URL be left intact, and that these reports be used with the specific wines rated, not different bottlings or vintages.

Our tasting policy:
All my wine-tasting reports are consumer-oriented. In order to maintain objectivity and avoid conflicts of interest, I accept no free samples from wineries or distributors, purchasing all the wines I rate at my own expense in retail stores.
