Dinner at Els Pescadors, Barcelona. Well off the tourist-beaten path in a working-class neighborhood, this simple but pleasant little restaurant offered outstanding Catalunyan seafood dishes and a decent, fairly priced wine list, from which we chose: Terras Gauda 1996 Rias Baixas "O Rosal" Albariño - Pale pea-green color, with lovely aromatics, melon and mango. Slightly sweet on the palate, fresh fruit structured with snappy acidity. Guitian 1997 Godello Valdeorras (Galicia) Godello - Clear straw color, with a pleasant scent of apples. Crisp, lean and dry; a simple, refreshing wine that went very well with sauteed turbot, clams and white beans.
