What the label won't tell you:
Regulations in the most wine-producing countries do not require nutritional labeling on wine. So we have put together some estimates based on typical wines, presented in the familiar U.S. nutrition analysis format. We think they'll give you a general idea of what to expect from a glass of your favorite red, white and dessert wines, and hope you'll find them interesting and useful.
Wine and Politics
There's a widespread legislative effort to ban wine sales across state lines in the U.S., including sales by mail and on the Internet. To learn more about this issue, click here! In other recent developments, here's the story about a Federal Court shooting down an anti-competitive Texas wine law, and here's the full text of that ruling.
Among other reports on the odd interface between wine and politics, we invite you to read John Juergens's article, Wine a carcinogen? Politics subverts U.S. government report, and Patrick Campbell's testimony, Ask your family doctor: Permissible language for wine label?
