Voting Booth: What do you keep in your wine cellar?|
Here's an offbeat question that came up in a conversation among a group of wine enthusiasts the other day: Are wine cellars only for wine?
As it turns out, quite a few folks who are fortunate enough to have serious cellars to keep their wine are not at all hesitant to use them for other goodies that benefit from a secure, temperature-controlled environment.
Quality microbrewery beers would certainly benefit from a wine-callar environment. Liquors don't require cool storage, but a secure spot in a fine cellar certainly wouldn't harm that rare bottle of Louis XIII Cognac. We've heard tales of more unusual cellar occupants, too, from party trays loaded with cold cuts and cheese to Madame's mink coat.
For this week's Wine Lovers' Voting Booth, we thought it would be fun to find out just what strange items our readers do stash (along with wine) in your cellars or wine racks, as we ask, "What do you keep in your wine cellar (besides wine)?"
We've provided a list of a dozen common possibilities, but of course you're welcome to use the fill-in-the-blank option; better yet, drop by the WLDG to tell us more. Thanks to Joe Perry for suggesting this topic for our light-hearted, unscientific poll. Once you have cast your ballot, the software will immediately add your entry to the list.
