Chateau d`Yquem 1968

I have just bought a bottle of Chateau d`Yquem 1968. I wonder if some one have taste it before? Is it a good vintage?

1968 Bordeaux in general were no good when released and are now dead (and still no good).
In idle moments one can dispute whether 1963, 1965 or 1968 was the worst vintage in that decade.
I hope the wine was inexpensive....
The one you more often see is the 1961, because people think it must be good, coming from an excellent claret vintage (it isn't).
Sorry to be the bearer of ill news. I would gift it to some charity that will issue a tax receipt, or if you feel in a self sacrificing mood, by all means open it and report back!

Bill, when a Sauternes gets too long in the tooth, can you tell by the color? I know these wines darken with time.

They all darken, some of them quite a bit with age.
I have tasted 1930s vintages that were mahogany....and delicious.
Colour is not a good indicator of quality- only of age.
