1968 Bordeaux in general were no good when released and are now dead (and still no good).
In idle moments one can dispute whether 1963, 1965 or 1968 was the worst vintage in that decade.
I hope the wine was inexpensive....
The one you more often see is the 1961, because people think it must be good, coming from an excellent claret vintage (it isn't).
Sorry to be the bearer of ill news. I would gift it to some charity that will issue a tax receipt, or if you feel in a self sacrificing mood, by all means open it and report back!
