Paulo's right, Bob. You should know about her. Her articles have been published in the Edmonton Journal. I subscribe to her bi-weekly e-mail newsletter (it's free).

Besides, she's one of the best looking wine writers I've seen.

Glad you liked the interview Paulo! I've also started podcasting recently (converting my e-newsletters essentially) ... just in case you're interested.

Cheers,
Natalie

Thanks Howie! I've been hibernating for about two years writing a book, but now that it's done, I have more time to be part of great forums like this one.

Cheers,
Natalie

What is it about Canada and female wine personalities? You also have The Wine Ladies. Also enjoyable, but at a somewhat more ironic level (as far as I am concerned at least). Don't tell me they are going to pop up here now!

Welcome, Natalie. It's good to have you join our forum here. As you may know, there are quite a few of us here who follow Ontario wines, and it will be good to have your expertise on hand. Most of the wine I buy is in fact Ontarian, with the majority being quality hybrid reds.

Glad you made it here and, as 'tis common to say around these parts, "we look forward to talking with you about wine." :)

Thanks Thomas and Paul! I think Ontario wines are making great strides ... and there are just so many other regions now also producing terrific wine. My recommended list of wines that I send out every two weeks has got longer over the the years as a result, but that's good news for consumers who have more choice, and don't have to pay as much, especially when buying wine from non-traditional regions.
Cheers,
Natalie

Natalie,

I've been asked to put together a list of wine writers for possible duty as judges at the New York State Fair in Syracuse, NY.

Would you be interested?

Sounds great to me too!! I am a big fan of the wines Paul B talks about so good to have you on board. Natalie, I know your name but am not familiar with your writings even though Mike B says you write for the Journal. Is it a "Dear Natalie" column!!!!!!!!?

Ha, ha! Yes it's a vinous agony aunt column... not :) I've written for the National Post and the Citizen previously, and because they're all part of the canwest chain of papers, sometimes the Journal will run my pieces, but it's not a regular column. These days I'm writing mostly for magazines and publishing my own newsletter (which is free, by the way). I'm also starting to think about book two, and of course, all this comes after I make time for drinking!

Heh, I'm a little embarassed about my earlier comment. My wife had a good laugh at my expense.

But yes, welcome Natalie. I have Red, White and Drunk on my shelf. I look forward to picking it up, but I have a few other books I'm in the middle of before I can start another one.

Thanks Mike, and no worries about your comment ... it was a nice complement :)

I hope you enjoy the book ... please let me know what you think when you have time to read it. In fact, if you like, you can post a review here: http://www.nataliemaclean.com/book/readers.asp.
