Had these two over the last week:
1. Badiali DOC: LaCrima di Mora d'Alba (13.5%; L01-L-2013; SalviaBiancaImports/SantaRosa) 2012: Very dark color; strong black cherry/blackberry/boysenberry almost RRV Zin-like slight earthy/pungent lovely perfumed nose; soft very strong blackberry/boysenberry/black cherry/licorice/RC Cola light earthy flavor w/ light/soft tannins; very long black cherry cola/boysenberry/licorice slight earthy/dusty finish w/ light/round tannins; a very good/drinkable example of LaCrima a bit like a RRV Mourv; great price at $17.70 (BB)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Two grape varieties they should be planting all up & down the coast of Calif. GeorgeUnti has a bit of LaCrima planted and has made a '12 & '13, but I've not tasted it. In LeMarche, they use LaCrima to make Visciola, a dessert wine (usually) made w/ cherries. It is usually pretty terrific.
There are a number of Calif Lagreins. They have all been pretty solid/good examples of the variety, though they lack the earthy/loamy character and the terroir of AltoAdige Lagrein.
