2008 Tobin James Silver Reserve Paso Robles Lagrein

We popped this one tonight; it is 14.6% alcohol, and the list price is $48 U.S. It came with the Fall 20010 wine club shipment. As usual it is a pitch black wine, but it not that intimidating. It was close to an Italian wine with our Italian Wednesday night dinner. It gave both red and black grapes on the nose and upfront. It was very kind it the middle with nice complexity and surprisingly a little cassis thrown in. It finished in long strokes.

We matched it with Penne Rigate, fresh tomato sauce, grated Fiore Sardo; along with broiled Italian Sausages and salad.
