2010 Reinhold Haart Wintricher Ohligsberg Riesling Spätlese Erste Lage - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (8/17/2013)
Everything about this wine is big - big fruit, big sweetness, big acid, big bottle! There's nothing subtle about it, which makes it a different sort of Mosel Riesling. It's the sledgehammer of Mosel Rieslings. Served with strongly flavored and spicy food it held it own, but more defensively than in a partnership with the food. It was a battle of titans - spicy curry vs. monster Mosel. When all was said and done I just poured another glass and had it as an after dinner drink. I liked that better for this wine.
