WTN: Anniversary dinner - Lobster & Pierre Peters Brut NV

NV Pierre Péters Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut Cuvée de Réserve - France, Champagne, Le Mesnil Sur Oger, Champagne (8/12/2013)
Straight out of the fridge this was really tight, but that was just because it was too cold. Fifteen minutes of air later, and a few degrees warmer the bright citrus and yeasty/bready tones were just pouring out of the glass. The warmer the wine got the better it showed, with increased richness but never any loss of precision. A very long finish carried through from first sip to last.

Served with steamed lobster with lemon and fresh corn on the cob for our traditional anniversary dinner. A brilliant match that enhanced both the food and the wine.

Disgorgement date 2/2011

David, have you ever had the chance to try the Pierre Péters "Cuvée Spéciale" Les Chétillons Brut? I have heard it is amazing, but don't know anyone personally who has had it yet.

Joy,

I have had several vintages of the Chétillons. It's a very special wine that is worth the higher cost.

I would also recommend looking out for magnms of the Pierre Peters Brut Cuvee de Reserve. It's not just a bigger bottle of the 750.

Thanks for the tip! Have you had the 2006 Chétillons?

Not yet.

Last version I tried was the 2004, and it was brilliant.

Can you elaborate a smidge? I guess I'm not on the "in" (if there is one).

Thanks.

A couple of people who should know have mentioned that the mags are straight vintage, not an NV blend.
