Very dark and lush out of the bottle; no bricking. Nose an abundant medley of black fruits, pencil lead, perhaps some tobacco. (Nothing alcoholic in the nose or in the glass.)

In the mouth more focused, younger, flavors, still big, mouth coating, long finish slightly metallic, not in a bad way, minerally--still tannins not wholly resolved, yet lasts and lasts. A little young; could easily hold for 2-10 years more. I usually wait at least a decade on decent Bordeaux, but we got some fire sale racks of lamb on Gilt, and some favas, and thought it would be a kick, which it was.
