WTN: DownHill SlipperySlope '06..(short/boring)

Tried this last night at dinner:
1. DownhillWine SlipperySlope SantaCruzMtns (85% Syrah/15% Grenache; www.DownHillWine.com) LosGatos 2006: Dark color w/ some browning; strong blackberry/Syrah slight strawberry/Grenache/fragrant rather pungent/graphite/ozone/BBQ sauce some pencilly/toasty/oak rather complex perfumed nose; soft fairly rich/lush some SCM/earthy rather pungent/graphite/smokey bit pencilly/toasty/charred/oak some blackberry/strawberry/Syrah bit tannic/hard flavor; soft bit tannic some earthy/SCM/Syrah/blackberry bit strawberry/Grenache finish; still on the tannic side but losing fruit and not going to get much better I suspect; reminds me a bit of some Paso/GSM blends but more structure and more earthiness and less ripe/jammy; quite a nice GSM blend at a good place right now.

A wee BP:
1. This is a wnry in LosGatos run by FrankAshton. I ordered a mixed case some 3-4 yrs ago, tried the wines, and, generally liked them and thought them well-priced. Though didn't find them sufficiently compelling to go back and order more. Good/solid/well-made wines from a variety of vnyds across Calif.
