I didn't find Castel in the guide. Will they be there? Very curious with the '11 PC, '10 GV, '12 Rosé that I've not yet had an opportunity to taste. Perhaps a quick stop at the winery is required some time soon...

Its there (pg. 30), although unfortunately it will be the 10 PC and the 10 "C"... Maybe Eli will bring the 12 Rose like he did last year with the 11...

The winery rep attending SHOULD be on the page of each individual winery.

IFWF has the same tasting guide. Not sure if he is posting, but it was completed recently. You might be able to get an advance digital copy if you reach out to them (or email me & I'll ask on your behalf).

I think Jurgen will be bringing a FEW bottles of rose' with him. But don't hold me to that.

Sadly I just found out that the '09 Unfiltered isn't ready and will not be at the show. Sorry...

There are some special wines that Herzog/Weinstock will be showing at the Herzoh IFWF - the new Weinstock Cellar Select Sierra Foothills Cabernet Franc 2010, along with the entire line of Herzog reserve wines which I did not see on the KFWE. However, many of the super high end Israeli wines will not be the IFWF.

Its a well known fact that Todd Aarons is out as chef at Terra Sur. I have a neighbor that is currently visiting Oxnard, and prior to his departure he told me that he is aware that Todd Aarons left. If there is more to it, then why wouldn't you share the gossip with us.

I don't think it's a matter of gossip or not, or that if there is gossip its anyone's duty to repeat it. The Tierra Sur website shows Todd and Gabe on there. Now, the KFWE has it listed as Chef Gabe Garcia. I assume since the KFWE brochure is newer, it must be more accurate, hence my question.

As far as what really happened, or why he's no longer there, I don't think that any explanation that will find itself to a forum post will contain sufficient veracity (or relevancy) to further the discussion. But, I will say that it's too bad, since he is certainly very talented in the kitchen, and I hope he finds another (local) outlet for his craft.

Meanwhile, Covenant is out. I know that was usually a highlight of the tasting for me, because it is stylisticly so different from the Herzogs, and helped show the breadth of stylistic approach in the kosher wine arena. There were years it wasn't te best Cab there, but there were definitely years it was.
