Any interest in a forum dinner after KFWE2013? While there is plenty of food available and a dinner might not be required, (i) some folks, including Dave and myself, don't eat while tasting; and (ii) a dinner would provide a calmer environment to hang out as the evening portion of the event gets somewhat chaotic.

If we do plan on a dinner, we should also pre-order a car service pickup as its pretty difficult to find a taxi afterwards and its only marginally more expensive.

Mike's Bistro
Le Marais
Jezebel
Ladino Tapas
Prime KO

Amsterdam Burger (nice burgers, not really a calm place to hang out though)

While not my preference, we could also venture further, if anyone is interested (and do etc. in Teaneck or Pardes in Brooklyn (especially for those who live in kosher culinary wastelands (i.e. anywhere outside of NY...)

My suggestions for dinner would be (in order of preference) as follows:

If, for some reason, anyone prefers a dairy place, Noi Due (on Broadway & 69th) is perfect.

Thoughts/suggestions - who is in??

I guess you mean Le Marais near Times Square, "La Marie" sounds more like the name of a little church in some anonymous french village...

Hey Yossie!

No interest in Milchig. I would go for Mike's (flight), or Jezebel, or La Marie

I'm not sure - I do eat at the wine tasting so if I came along it would just be for the company. For me, I think it will be a game time decision based on how exhausted I am.

Yossie,

I hope to join.

As for venue, I like the idea of Pardes because I reside in Brooklyn. Of those you mention, I'd give my vote to Ladino Tapas, with Mike's Bistro as the alternate.

Best,

I would go for Pardes just by virtue of their beer selection. I definitely will not be up for more wine at that point! 8)

Given that the event will be over relatively late, I suspect that the out of the city locations won't be good matches...

I suggest we settle on Mike's or Ladinos.

I would suggest Jezebel. As much as I will most likely not attend the event, never say never, you never know... Not only would I join the after-party anyway but I would be as well very interested into reading a group review on Jezebel that would be also a symbolic choice for a forumites get-together to dine at NYC's finest non-mevushal-wine serving restaurant...

Dude - after 80 to 100 bottles - the palate is FRIED! So, the dinner here is more about consuming food and less about well written prose on food and wine :D

I'm game for whatever, but would add to the list the new Prime at the top of the Bentley hotel. The ambiance is very unique. For the out of towers it would provide a very NY experience. Granted it's across town...

I was just at Prime @ Bentley last night for first time. Great venue, superb views, reasonable food (sushi was the pick), took a while to get it though. Overall - excellent pick when food is not the focus, but rather the ambiance/setting.

Rumor has it that there is not a full kitchen there but rather the food is cooked elsewhere, brought in and finished in a convection oven....

Thanks, Yossie, very interesting. I wouldn't be all that surprised. I've dined there a few times and had ok experiences from a food perspective. But Josh hit it on the head: the ambiance is really unique.

After an evening of tasting hundred of wines and wanting to hang out as a group, I might put A++ ambiance and decent food over B or C ambiance and a chance for good food. Just me, I'll do whatever...

I would LOVE to meet for dinner but, judging from my performance at the LA event last year, just getting back to our hotel room might prove a challenge. Any chance of scheduling for Sunday night?
