Who is Maurie Rosenberg?

I was contacted by the publisher of the book Fruit of the Vine: The Complete Guide to Kosher Wine written by Maurie Rosenberg. Has anyone ever read this book? Does anyone know Mr. Rosenberg?

I have an old copy of his book (given to me as a gift by my mechutan, who had it gathering dust at his Jewish book and gift store), and I've spoken to him a few times. Seems like a nice guy, but I would very much doubt a comprehensive tome will come out of it.

he is a semi-retired guy who is passionate about kosher wine as a hobbyist. Its a new book (basically updating the prior one) and is geared more toward newbies than hard core aficionados.

I skimmed the book. Not much wine info for anyone who know his cabernet from his chadonnay (he offers a very colorful intro for those who don't) but some interesting tidbits on wine in Jewish history, talmud, and halacha.

I think some of the reference here is made regarding my first book in 2005; “L’chaim! - Users Guide To Kosher Wine 1.0” but my new “Fruit of the Vine -The Complete Guide to Kosher Wine is now available on Amazon.com and receiving flattering review.

I am an enthusiastic teacher and an eager student. Feedback is always invited.

Among the many salutations and toasts of which I am aware "L'chaim!”; would appear to unique in its celebration of life, simcha and the simple grammatical certainty it is a plural word.

Clearly good kosher wine begs to be shared with others along with wine appreciation and knowledge.

I am delighted and grateful for opportunity to participate in that process.
