WTN: Binymina Reserve Cab 2010

At a bar mitzva last night I had a Binyamina wine for the first time in a very long time.

Binyamina Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 - Surprisingly good, and what makes it so is its balance of herbs and fruit. There are no claims of greatness here, but considering that the other choice was a Jeneusse, the Binyamina shone brightly. The tannins are very much in check, and given that the wine spent 18 months in oak that is quite unexpected. The body is on the medium side. It is not very extracted, and it benefits from filtering. I will add though that the second glass wasn't as tasty as the first, with some unwanted bitterness sneaking in. 14% AbV. B-/na
