Tried these two w/ dinner last night:
1. OjaiVnyd Viognier BienNacidoVnyd/SantaMariaVlly (14.5%) 2004: Med.gold color; rather fragrant Andruada pear/Viog bit earthy/stony/mineral somewhat restrained bit spicy/nutmeg attractive nose; fairly tart bit lean/metallic/earthy/mineral elegant Andruada pear/Viog/spicy/nutmeg attractive flavor; med.long lean/tart/earthy/mineral elegant/pear/Viog/nutmeg slight metallic finish; an attractive lithe/bright/lean Viog that's not showing much evolution or age.
____________
2. BedrockWineCo Zin OldVine/SonomaVlly (14.8%; www.BedrockWineCo.com) 2011: Dark color; very strong blackberry/boysenberry/Zin quite spicy/rosemary/thyme light toasty/oak quite attractive; soft light toasty/Am.oak very spicy/rosemary/thyme/garrigue very strong blackberry/boysenberry/Zin bit dusty some structured/tannic/hard flavor; very strong blackberry/Zin/boysenbery old vine/dusty some tannic/hard/structured finish; a very solid very strong straighforward structured Zin that can use several yrs; another Bedrock winner for a great price. $23.00
