It's really rather interesting being a zeyde, most notably in viewing the manner in which my younger, unmarried daughters relate to the baby. The 12 year old is especially fond of her. Before the birth, she registered that she wanted to be known to the baby as "cool auntie Mimi". But she really seems to be, having taken an extreme interest in Ahuvah Soulika, probably holding her longer and more frequently than anyone save the parents. I have a feeling she'll be the youngest married, as well as simply the youngest. We're all thrilled with the baby, who inherited her good looks from me, her intelligence from her mom (through her bubbe), and her ability to relate to others from her dad. She doesn't like being swaddled, preferring instead her freedom of movement. All in all, wonderful.
