JonBonne has a nice story today in the SFChron on Gamay, featuring SteveEdmunds as a Gamay rock star:
Bonne:Gamay

Every since PamelaAnderson became Steve's crack marketing director, we're seeing a lot of Steve in the media. Why...I wouldn't be surprised to see his mug in People magazina any day now.
Anyway, good read and kudos to Steve for being out front on Gamay.

Link does not work. Too many http.

After getting to the page, it is a nice article. In addition to good press for Steve, I am happy to be informed of a forthcoming Arnot-Roberts gamay.

Bone Jolly is GREAT! It might be the BEST turkey wine of ALL-TIME! To bad the beverage manager at the store where I work screwed up and didn't get any in before the holiday. I suppose some Cru Beaujolais will have to do!

James; I've had several people in the DC area wanting to know which retailers have any. Can you tell me? (My distributor has to contact his salespeople to find out, and they're all away for the weekend or something)

Can't tell you which retailers have any but a quick search of the usual suspects yields nothing. Whoever has it is not a major store in the area.

Checked the following:
Calvert Woodley
MacArthur Beverage
Weygardt
Schneider's
Total Wine
Mill's in Annapolis.

Sorry. Should have stated that it was an online inventory check. MacArthurs on-line inventory is probably 98%+ of what is in the store. There is always a few things not listed but its close to complete. I can't speak for the others.

Steve, I.M. Wine in Fulton MD usually has it, but I believe they are out as well. We were going to get it in, but as a very new store some distributors of high-end wine take a stand off attitude.

I've bought ESJ at MacArthur in the past, but haven't seen any (online or on the store shelves) the past two years. I suppose I should bug them about it. Found one at Arrowine in Arlington once, too. Otherwise, my main source has been Chambers Street.

By the way, had the 2008 Porphyry and the 2004 Rocks and Gravel over the past two weeks. The former was absolutely magnificent! Darker than the average Beaujolais with lots and lots of minerals, reminded me a bit of a good Cote de Brouilly, yet also very distinctive. Loved it. The Rocks and Gravel was intriguing -- seemed Mourvedre-dominated though it accounts for 30-odd percent of the blend.

Anyway, I have yet to taste an ESJ I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

Steve, do you ship to Maryland yet? (It is now entirely legal, though I don't know how tough the bureaucratic hoops are you'd have to jump through.)

Old Line in Beltsville should be a regular sourcwe in the future Bruce. I know the Wine Source in Baltimore and Iron Bridge in Columbia also carry Steve's wines.

Thanks. Baltimore and Columbia are a bit far (though for Steve's wine, maybe not...) but Beltsville -- not a place I've previously thought of as a source of fine wines -- is easy to get to.

You need to check the store out! Great bistro attached to the store as well! (Yes, this is a bit of self-promotion. I work there.)

Ace Beverage has been the only place I've ever gotten your wares (not saying it's the only one that has carried it, just the only one I've personally found it at). I did call the local distro a year or two back when looking for the Heart of Gold, and IIRC they said Ace was the only place that had it. Don't know if if they meant that wine or ESJ in general. In any case that's the place I go to if I want ESJ. In the past couple of years I've gotten Bone Jolly, Heart of Gold, and Basetti Syrah there.

BTW I just got off the phone with them, they don't have any Bone Jolly in stock but said they can get it.

[EDIT]

Took it a step further and called Potomac Selections. They say everyone is out but they are getting more next week.

I still have a few each of '08 and '09 Bone-Jolly from cases that we have guzzled down. I might take one of each to pair with turkey on Thursday. Can't miss with either one.

For those in DC Metro I found several bottles, well minus what I bought, of the 2011 Bone Jolly at Cork Market on 14th Street.
