Sounds to me like a good night for sparkling wines, as long as the power holds out to operate the refrigerator. Otherwise, a good pinot noir goes with anything.

I for one will be finishing the Landsman Pinot Noir and the covenant sauvignon blanc that I opened yesterday. I could be opening up loads of other bottles to the extent that we run out of water. :lol:

I would have not said it better! Another suggestion is light up some candles and your fireplace if you have one, get a good book (a gmara is quite a valid option as well), pour yourself some good, rich, port and enjoy the storm safely...

Forget the wine! Fortify yourselves with whiskey or whisky, and sleep through the storm, or at least have the illusion of staying warm.

Luckily I didn't lose power and I enjoyed a great wine. I had some of the 2009 Psagot Edom. I got lots of amazing herbs on this one on this one, interesting considering that it is mostly cabernet sauvignon and only 17% cabernet franc. Can cabernet sauvingnon be herbaceous?
