Happy Birthday, Jenise!

by Robin Garr » Sun Aug 26, 2012 9:02 am

I couldn't decide which forum it would be best to post this in, but decided there's no place better than the Kitchen to offer a rowdy round of "Happy Birthday To YOU!" to our Forum Dishwasher. May you have a great day, and many, many more.

Seconded! Many happy returns. Hope you get to enjoy a Chave, or something equally delicious.

It was great to finally meet you this year.

You of all people would love my birthday dinner plan, Frank: street food at the Chinese night market in Richmond, BC!

Thanks, everybody! Chinese street food was fun, and for the first time in I-can't-remember-how-long I didn't even celebrate with a glass of wine. But that's okay, because I don't actually celebrate a birthDAY, I have a birth fortnight. Festivities (in which I help myself to the parts of the cellar usually reserved for special occaisions) start on the 19th and run through Labor Day weekend regardless of when the actual 14th day occurs because it just doesn't make sense to end a holiday early, right?

We started a family tradition with our children and their b-days. First we had the real b-day with their friends. Then we had a family day, they usually picked water skiing or snow skiing depending on whose day it was. Then we had a day for that special kid and the parents. It was always very fun and sometimes the days got mixed up but no one cared, just as long as we all made good memories. 8)
