Hi Menachem. Opened a Yatir Forest 2005 a month ago and it was excellent, even after having been stored in a thermo-electric cooler where the temperature fluctuates and reaches 18 degrees on very hot days. Although I am not qualified to judge drinking windows, the 2014 seems to be extremely early. Shabbat Shalom. Zvi
I had the 05 Forest about a year ago and it was very impressive and enjoyable, felt like at the beginning of its drinking window. Assuming that your storing conditions are 100% I believe it can comfortably develop (and not just age, or 'hold on') over the next few years and last much longer than that. Being on the careful side, if it's just one bottle, I'd wait 2-4 years to catch it early, and if it's a bunch I'd start with the first over the next year and then extrapolate according to your taste and preferences.
I agree with you guys. I tasted it again this April and I agree that the wine could use more time to develop. I brought that up to Rogov a while back. viewtopic.php?f=29&t=39942
